The Operations Director
Rick Adobato
As the Operations Director for Fayette EMS, I have the position that coordinates the personnel arriving at your home in your time of need. This involves many people and different types of equipment. Everything from the dispatchers taking your request either directly or from Fayette County 911 and sending anything from a state of the art Advanced Life Support Ambulance to arranging for a wheelchair accessible van to take you to a medical appointment.
Many times you will see one of our ambulances sitting along the road seemingly not doing anything. They are moved to these strategic locations to fill in for one of our ambulances that are out on other calls, or for other ambulance services that are busy. This way there are not huge gaps in OUR service area when the ambulance that would normally serve you in an emergency is out on another call. Additionally, we staff ambulances and "quick response vehicles" during busy times and call in off duty personnel during times of system overlaod along with using the closest neighboring ambulance service.
Using our fleet of 15 ambulances, 1 quick response vehicle,a mass casualty trailer and 2 Incident command vehicles along with a highly trained and caring staff of professionals, we are confident that Fayette EMS will be here to care for your needs now and for years to come.
If you ever have questions or concerns about an ambulance transport please contact me Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at (724) 628-8610.
The events of Hurricane Katrina will live with us for many years. We were sitting, as most of you were, watching the horror on TV. We then received a call for our EMS Strike team to deploy to Louisiana. About 80 first responders from Pennsylvania along with 6 of our paramedics, EMT's, and one of our mechanics spent 2 weeks assisting citizens affected by the ravage.
This is another shining example of our greatest asset.....the outstanding Professional Men and Women of Fayette EMS.Thank you,
Rick Adobato
