Crews from Fayette EMS spent over 2 weeks caring for displaced residents after Huricaines
Katrina/Rita in early October 2005.
Fayette EMS is a part of the Pa Department of
Health "EMS Strike Team". Ten of our employees volunteer to train and prepare for
major disasters. In October 2005, 6 of them along with 80 others from Pennsylvania
responded to the call up and spent 2 weeks in Louisiana assisting victums of
Hurricanes Katrina/Rita.
Fayette EMS will handle interstate transports on a
case-by-case basis. Ground transport is most often less expensive
than air transport. If you have a need to move a relative, and
ambulance transport is necessary, call our dispatch center at the 800-540-3363.
They will be glad to assist you.
One of the public services it provides is CPR and
First Aid training through the public
relations dept.
